What an incredible day at Open Door 2020! We had leaders from across the Federal Service learning, speaking, and talking about mental health. It was inspiring! Thank you to all who helped make it happen! BCFedLeaders BC Federal Council Mario Baril 📸 ken.1shii/IG #endstigma

Started my day with a virtual morning coffee with my new team members. Creating regular, time-bound opportunities to connect informally with your #distributed #team is important to building #culture and relationships. #FlexGC

How can you do this? 1. Send a calendar invite for a 30 min virtual coffee. 2. Set location as your WebEx or other virtual meeting spot. 3. Set a conversation topic. Maybe you’ll use it, maybe not. It’s a good way to invite people in. 4. Meet and enjoy connecting. #FlexGC

And 5. Even if the conversation is good, end on time. If you’re not committed to ending on time, people might stop coming. We’be all got work to do, and this is just a (#virtual) coffee. #FlexGC

DYK? Social connection protects and promotes good #MentalHealth. That’s why this year’s #MentalHealthWeek is about connecting with others. #GetReal about how you feel and don’t be afraid to lean on others for support.
