Are you struggling with how to introduce variability into your shooting workouts? What about your focus? Your intentional focus? and how you use it when you are doing your shooting workouts, a simple way is introduce strategic variability by using a mini ball.

The best shooters can alter the arc of their shot to whatever angle is called out. That’s why it’s so important to practice this 👇 (This is part of the special sauce Tommy uses to optimize shooters)

We explore “ball handling” through a very specific lens which is based on extensive research and application testing. We define it as “ball manipulation & calibration”.  Because we are exploring a spectrum that enhances qualities that the best “ball handlers” possess.

I struggled for years to teach dribbling optimally and when BBiomechanics told me about his focus on the reception of the ball years ago, it really helped with my coaching

A BB principle: varying the terrain strategically with dosages of soft sand sessions with very SPECIFIC INTENTION & MOVEMENT EXPLORATION, will in fact enhance your movement capacity on court rapidly.

We will soon see a reversal & or a blend of both “inside & outside”. The art of basketball adaptability. Who will be bold enough to explore it?

Gorgeous move by A’ja. Left foot is down when dribble ends with both hands on ball (she let it float in front perfectly). Then a simple, and legal, R-L into the jump. Legal in WNBA, NBA, and FIBA

At BB we focus on players empowering themselves through understanding what limiting factors we are focusing on, at times including them in the solution, & then exploring it from both lenses.

Taking the arms out isn’t just about it being “harder”. Not only does it enhance attentional focus, it also will optimize self organization. Depicted are two positions we leverage during our BB movement progressions.

Stressing the visual system is an important variable to explore when “calibrating” our shot making adaptability. We strategically leverage visual occlusion within our shooting calibration methods to maximize player potential.

If it were only about raw athletic qualities, those that test the best would always be the best. It’s not that raw qualities don’t matter it’s just that we need to balance out the equation. And that equation is balanced by the lens at which we see things through.

For the next 2 years of my high school career I will be attending Skyline Prep in Phoenix Arizona. After careful consideration with my family, this was the best decision for me to continue my development. Thank you Molloy for everything. Stamped in my city forever❤️

We optimize shooting calibration with and without using the dribble. The dribble is actually a constraint. Often times, players become so robotic, it is impossible to explore anything with "verbal" cueing only. Manipulation of the task is essential & a foundational principle
