All through (state, mixed) sixth form I had people warn me that Theoretical Physics was a "really hard" degree. My maths teacher refused to predict me an A* in Further Maths because it was "really difficult", despite pretty much all the boys in my class being predicted A*s. (1/2)

Guess someone forgot to tell me.

I am very glad that there are people who choose to be mothers and also very glad to be able to decide never to become one myself. No one should have that choice taken away from them.

Can't decide which is more stressful, writing my thesis or finding a preorder for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

As someone who did not have any papers, this is incredibly alarming. The PhD is about training but if the expectation is to have published before then what is the point of the PhD. Not only this but it discourages people from a wide variety of backgrounds to apply.

Reached that point in thesis writing where I am in dire need of a #tayto sandwich
