From the archives - atop the Big E #Everest 15 years ago today. When I came home and showed my son these photos he thought I looked like Santa Claus!

On this day, 02.06.1953; the world learned about the epic first ascent of Mt #Everest. A triumph of human spirit and determination that defied all odds!🙏🏻

You really need to meet my friend Jonny Kim - a humble, resilient, highly intelligent American hero... and likely The Most Interesting Man in the World. #NavySEAL, #physician, helicopter #pilot and now an #astronaut aboard the #ISS. Stay thirsty my friends!

#OTD 16 years ago 4 little Apollo 11 Moon rocks were delivered to my house thanks to @BNjacobs. I took them to Nepal. Scott Parazynski took them to the summit of Mt. Everest. They now reside above the sky with a piece of Everest inside the International Space Station cupola. (Exploration)^2
