The National Heroes Council CEO, Charles Wambia, hosted 2024 National Heroes: Dr. Shaina Chandaria, Dr. Hussein Bagha, Dr. Aruna Varsani, Faith Jeruto, and Sarah Atieno. The meeting highlighted the crucial importance of honored heroes continuing to uphold their honor and values.

He also took cognizance of the fact that the Council's honours heroes whose actions contribute to the attainment of the government's Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda through initiatives that contribute towards Universal Healthcare Coverage, 15 billion tree planting goal.

The CEO observed that “the National Heroes Council remains steadfast in its mission to celebrate those whose remarkable contributions have made and continue to make our nation proud. Through this and ongoing support, we uplift the legacies of these selfless individuals.

Dr. Aruna Varsani, was honoured for her human rights advocacy efforts through her Together for Better Foundation, that champions for the rights of girls to access reproductive health information, menstrual hygiene, mental health and wellness.
