A team from ARTEMIS Plastic Recovery Boat and Derby Riverboat did a little pick this morning in Derby City Centre. There was quite a bit of stuff we couldn't get to as it was pretty much in the river. We might need some more tools! The Ocean Cleanup Clean Up Britain

St Mary's Bridge chapel is thought to have been built in the 1300s. Chapels like this are very rare, this is only one of a handful that still survive in the UK. Its walls tell many stories! This is just one of many fascinating historic buildings in Derby city centre.

A single shower can send over 100,000 microbeads down the drain. That's like releasing an army of tiny plastic particles into our waterways! Let's scrub away from our personal care products. So we can keep our oceans and food chain bead-free: buff.ly/2AZGAYb

ARTEMIS is designed to pick up macro plastics around 5cm to 25cm, meso plastics and micro plastics down to 1mm. We are planning to use it on the waterways around Derbyshire during 2023 to see how much plastic litter we can collect. Prof. Michael Sweet FRSB

More good news from Jamaica!

Interceptors 008, 009, 010 and 011 continue fighting plastic pollution in Kingston’s gullies.

We’re still confirming the catch quantities - stay tuned for more details of our Interceptors’ impact on plastic pollution in Jamaica.

This photo was taken from the back of yesterday. Historically, the river and the @derby_canal were essential to the Silk Mill's success as they provided power and transport. We are using the river once again as a zero emission way to travel and wind down at the weekend!
