What an uplifting and inspiring keynote by Arif Hussein @# Rural Australians for Refugees 22 conference # connecting for change SSI Zaki Haidari
Inspiring talk by Arif Hussein listening to him is another reminder that we have so much work to do with the Labor government. From permanent protection for refugees, work & study rights, an end to offshore regime & indefinite detention of people seeking protection and much more..
It was great to speak at RAR.Australia Conference & to highlight the ongoing work that we need to do to ensure that we are a society that responds to the forced displacement of people with compassion, respect and dignity.
Expect this to be part of the rich discussion when Yulia Ioffe @UCLIRDR UCL Faculty of Laws, Arif Hussein RACS, Catherine Woollard ECRE and Tamara Wood discuss #Ukraine's impact on refugee protection at #Kaldor22, 'Turning points'. Book your spot now: kaldorconference.com
The change we have longed for, since a miserable evening in December 2014, has finally arrived. A pathway to permanent protection is real for over 19,000 people. 😭🎉🥰🎊💃🏻🥳 Congratulations to Andrew Giles MP AND to our TPV/ SHEV community, for their leadership and strength 💪🏻
🔴 Sarah Dale, RACS Centre Director & Principal Solicitor, will be joined by Zaki Haidari, Amnesty International Australia 🕯 Refugee Rights Campaigner, at 9:30am Monday to discuss the changes and what it means for our community.
Hard to express how thrilled I am for my colleague and friend Zaki Haidari that after 10 years he can now truly call Australia home , for 19,000 just like him this is an incredible moment Amnesty International Australia 🕯 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
"It says a lot about the disgusting and cruel state of policy towards people seeking asylum over the past 30 years that the bare minimum of honouring human rights conventions... is the cause of such celebration." - Zaki Haidari loom.ly/I4B4lBU
