An interesting goose paired to a Tundra Bean. The all pale peachy-pink bill, white halter and small dark spots on the upper belly perhaps point to it being a Tundra Bean X Russian Whitefront hybrid rather than an aberrant Tundra Bean. With Ash McElwee and Graham Fellows 💙

Svalbard Pink-footed Goose with GPS neck collar. Icelandic breeding birds winter in the UK and Svalbard birds winter in the Low Countries. The arrival of a known Svalbard bird in Norfolk goes hand in hand with the current influx of Whitefronts, Barnacles and Tundra Beans

Wanted to find some Tundras this afternoon & tracked down a flock of 1200 Pinks near Langham. Old skool stalking behind hedges afforded some sort of views without spooking the flock & yielded 6 Tundra Beans & the 3 Barnacles seen at Cley earlier. #norfolkbirding #cleybirds

Some decent weather at last! Good to see my local Goshawk population is doing very well, managed at least 3 different males this morning, possibly four! Dan Martin

Ferruginous Duck is still a rare visitor to the north Norfolk coast. A popular female on Holkham Park lake a decade ago & a young drake at Stiffkey & then Cley around 1996 (?) are the only ones I've seen on the coast in decades, so Holkham's drake today was sweet! #norfolkbirding

This superb drake Long-tailed Duck has graced Cley's Arnold's Marsh today. It's many many years since I saw one this smart so well here. (More pics at cleybirds.com.)

A mild Tuesday, a bit of a breeze & warm afternoon sunshine for our 2nd go at the stunning drake Long-tailed Duck that's been in & out of Arnold's Marsh today. Could have watched this sensational bird all day ~ adult drakes on the marsh are super rare! #norfolkbirding #cleybirds

The Icelandic Black-tailed Godwits are building in number on the marsh at the moment (100 on the south side & more on the north). Many retain the familiar grey garb of winter but there's the odd one advancing into summer attire now. Eyes open for an early L3 soon 👀 🤞 #limosa

A epic day as we followed four of the '27s' Orcas from land up in the east Mainland of Shetland. Tail slaps, spy hops, lunges, bubble jets and belly rolls - brilliant!

TENGMALM'S OWL at Ollaberry, Shetland this afternoon. Discovered yesterday by local residents Ewen & Kit Mowat, myself and Logan Johnson decided to try and relocate it and after a bit of searching, a shape in a tree revealed itself to be this beauty! A stunning. bird and thanks

Some of the detritus left in the hide at #uptonwarren Flashes on Friday (suitably binned back at the car park). If someone can carry a full cup of hot coffee to a hide why cant they leave with an empty cup? 🤷‍♂️😕🤔

A short video of the TENGMALM'S OWL at Ollaberry, Shetland last week. Thanks again to the homeowners Ewen and Kit for their kindness and hospitality. Only the seventh record for Shetland (assuming it to be the same individual that was in the West Mainland earlier this year) with

ORCA CALF! Great views of some of the '65s' Orcas off Sumburgh Head, Shetland today as they headed south close inshore. Here's 'Ossa' and her 2023 calf ploughing through the swell this afternoon. Magical! 🖤🤍

Steller's Eiders at Båtsfjord and Vardø, Arctic Norway. This stunning, pint-sized seaduck is the rarest of the eider species with a declining global population of 130,000 - 150,000 individuals. That might sound a lot, but its high Arctic breeding range extends from western Russia
