Yesterday I spoke to journalists about this old chestnut. The wooden phallus that is, not Prof Rob Collins, FSA . Have a read of his thread for more info on the phallus research!

When a proposed tracked change to a document reads: ‘nah, don’t lie to me bro’, you know it’s probably approaching lunchtime.

To build a great life, slow down. Anyone can caffeinate & push hard toward a goal. But it's not sustainable. Long-term energy comes from alignment. And alignment requires feeling the subtle difference between energy created from anxiety & energy created from inspiration.

I measure my success not on money, publications, career or educational achievements-although all of them are nice. Every day, I just measure how safe, comfortable and honest people can be around me. If I have made everyone feel like they can talk real to me- doing well.

Having my annual sit down with the ghost of an old friend. Memorial benches are such a good way of remembering: I can totally feel Albert’s boney but strong old arm holding my shoulder, asking me if I am ready to dig. #ghostsofvindolanda #diggingseason

An exception to my generally non -political feed to share this video of a Tory questioning another Tory and the one being questioned doesn’t know their own processes. This is a ‘work practices’ issue: if I mumble that much through a question, I don’t know the answer.

Assigning anaerobic posts- to the untrained eye all equally round or squared, all equally woody and forming a potential infinite number of linear combinations- to each building in QGIS is at the same time my best work and my worst nightmare #archaeology #drawingup #crosseyed

When the fill is clay and the cut is through tempered clay, and there is 27 English degrees on site. At least the edges are obvious, eh?

That is a nicely excavated horse burial! Mad props to all involved. Also is it just me seeing the pound coin sized round bit of skull missing between the jaw and eyesocket? Is that sample? Or evidence of vet cutting out an abscess? So curious!

My post ex team found this in a period I context- circa AD85-95! One big fish that I think would make Dr Hannah Russ FSA MCIfA very happy! We have a running bet on the species- any guesses?
