In today's world, there are too many people whose friends are digital, they have no reality in their lives, and they aren't striving to achieve anything. Today's average was yesterday's poor. We need more greatness to get yesterday's average back.

I'm bothered by the way some parents treat their daughters compared to their sons. It carries over to how they think about women in general. This isn't an American thing. It's a world thing. #DoBetter

I've had good employees and bad ones. Good bosses and bad ones. The common thread has nothing to do with gender (or race). The idea that a man can coach an athlete better than a woman is ridiculous.

Players who never fail will never succeed. Players who aren't held accountable now will be held accountable later. The thing is it's always about the basics, not the hype. hoopscollege.com/the-lack-of-fu…

Being a fan and being able to accurately and objectively evaluate a player are different. Too many "fans" who build hype around players who have glaring deficiencies. The problem is that it only hurts the players, but not the people who profit from the hype.

The stories I hear from parents, players and relatives about their experiences with basketball bother me. It’s not about playing time or ability. It’s not about the level either. Please don’t call me coach. From what I can tell it’s insulting.

Took our kids to watch a college 🏀game on Saturday. Thankfully Scott Davenport teaches Bellarmine Men’s Basketball real defense. His team took so many charges Saturday. 1 of our 7yr olds decided on his own to give it a try in 3x3 yesterday. 😂😍 #alittlelate #babyballers

True #development is #hard, #boring, and #unrewarding in the moment. But then there are moments when there’s a spark. Then things can get really interesting if you stay after it. Most aren’t cut out for that process, but I’m in if you are. Preston Heffner Atiba “AJ” Shaw
