If you are using Java to access a DB, and don't use Apache Cayenne, you are really missing something. Cayenne and Lucene are two of the best Java libraries I know of; learning them is a great way to learn also their respective domain (DB access & text indexing/search).

We just posted 4.0.3 - a maintenance release of the older Cayenne 4.0. It makes that version of CayenneModeler compatible with Java 17. So if you haven't upgraded to 4.1/4.2 yet, you should still be able to work with your models.
