Today we visited the facilities of Zahra. Zahra is part of our Embassy of the Netherlands in Uganda & GH supported ‘Business Lab Uganda’ program. Connecting 🇺🇬 farmers to European consumers by collecting, processing, shipping de-hydrated young jackfruits; ingredients for vegetarian and vegan products!

Amazing how our partner ‘Healthy Entrepreneurs’ manages to reach out to the smallest, remotest communities in #Uganda to bring healthcare to the people and connect them to real-time doctors back in Kampala! Another project we are proud of to be able to support! @hesocialimpact

This afternoon we visited Yalelo. This (partly) 🇳🇱 DGGF funded fish farm produces tilapia for the local market & for export. They provide jobs and livelihood to > 700 people; a clear example of the great possibilities 🇺🇬 has to offer for food producing and processing companies.

The last stop of our fieldtrip to Jinja region: a ‘Business Lab Uganda’ #BLU jackfruit collection point. Here the jackfruits are collected & checked for further transport & processing. On average a family makes an additional 20k shilling per week by supplying jackfruit to BLU!
