Flies are truly wondrous, some even have mirrors for noses!

This is a male Metopia species of Sarcophagidae. He will bask on sunlit bramble leaves, presumably hoping the sun will glint off his nose to attract a female!

Spotted these petiole gall aphids on a cottonwood tree during my walk today. Their tiny little microcosm is fascinating!

Check out our new paper on planetary health education in the Anthropocene! We analyzed K-12 science standards throughout the USA, finding that many failed to convey these concepts with a sense of urgency. It was such a pleasure to be part of this team of dedicated researchers.
