I get a lot of comments and messages saying just to wait and “hang in there”, and I need to remind people it is not just a matter of choice to endure more suffering + sickness. I am one of these unlucky few who has a neuromuscular disease like presentation of #NeuroSjogrens…

This means that untreated, I experience severe autonomic neuropathy symptoms including shutting down my GI system, losing my ability to swallow, and also losing my bladder sensation, on top of the neuropathic pain, weakness, + POTS which will also become increasingly severe.

Only some of this can be endured and survived with sheer will. I cannot will my esophagus and throat to coordinate properly to not aspirate when I swallow. Even if I could endure the pain and loss of function and becoming fully bedbound.

Not to mention the increasing risk of falling and fractures from the severe untreated osteoporosis. Not to mention the malnutrition and pain from my multitude of GI issues I also have no care for. Not to mention the major issues with my neck which are pinching nerves etc.

Yes I can endure a lot, I have proven that. But it is not a choice to wait indefinitely for treatment. I do not have that luxury. This WILL kill me sooner or later, unless I can get back on treatment and get proper medical support.

So while I appreciate the encouragement, it is not appropriate. Encourage the doctors to step up and do their jobs and help me. That is the only thing that can save my life. #Care4ComplexBC #BCHealth
