月や火星の砂(レゴリス)でバッテリーを製造する研究が進んでいます。月面基地や惑星探査で長期間活動するための電源として活用される予定です。月や火星の表層にはリチウムが僅かしか無いため、豊富に存在するナトリウムNaを用いてNaイオン電池を製造します。製造には3Dプリンターが使用されます。
