hard mike It's really good. The series is centered on the killing of Treuhand Chief Detlev Rohwedder, and each episode gives a different take on what have happened and who might've done it, interspersed with a very good explanation of just how chaotic the whole integration process was.

hard mike It's very balanced in the way it frames the entire event, and even gives ample airtime to former Stasi members and East German citizens. They're given a voice to clarify what they went through, and how they perceived the so-called 'reunification'. 10/10

hard mike I remember watching it with my family, and considering my family are the classic milquetoast liberal types, they were rather shocked at all the new information they were never presented with when it all happened in 1989 and through the 1990s.

hard mike For example the large popular protests sweeping across East Germany, workers strikes, how formerly state-owned assets were sold off by the Treuhand for as little as a dollar per factory etc. They were never told this side of the story until we watched this series.
