Hoi An, Vietnam has pedestrianized its entire city centre. As expected, it's deserted. With no way to get there, not a senior or child in sight. Unable to receive deliveries, shops and restaurants have nothing to sell. Very unsafe, especially at night.

(I've made these jokes before but they're actual reasons people give for why we can't achieve this anywhere in Vancouver - not a single street, let alone an area. All the "problems" are solvable! Look anywhere in the world. It's just lazy excuses at this point.)

Because sometimes our roads can be for something more than through traffic/parking - it just needs a bit of imagination and the community! This is at the heart of what more liveable streets is all about ❤️

This weekend 20 of us attempted The Pie Run; a 95 mile ride from Inverness to Achmelvich Beach Hostel before the pie shop shuts! We all need a little incentive to be active sometimes 😉 #lotionismotion #freemovement

I used to live near here… there are lots of our country lanes that bar access duplicate main roads and could be filtered like this to improve local access to green space and activity.

An odd claim in a local anti-LTN article has been bugging me so I just searched Google Images for “soviet images of children playing in street” and got lots of period British ones. Children have lost so much freedom over the years, something LTNs can recover.
