A car hit my husband riding his bike today. The driver passed too close, clipped his front tire and didn’t stop. Amazingly he didn’t break anything, just bruises and sprains. He was too stunned so he didn’t call the police. This is the 3rd time he’s been hit by a car in 6 years.

Day 2 of my #WeekWithoutDriving. Back on City of Everett Transit route 19. The route is so convenient for me to catch, but the 45 minute headways are anxiety provoking.

Day 3 of my #WeekWithoutDriving. I rode my bike and am grateful I have a safe, comfortable route to work. Also feeling a little pissed at the BMW that buzzed me on what is supposed to be a shared street but that’s nothing new.

Today I am choosing to fail day 4 of my #WeekWithoutDriving. I have to take the love of my life to a vet cardiologist 20 miles away. No one can drive me and it’s taken me 4 months to get the appointment, so I can’t reschedule. I acknowledge the privilege in this decision.

Uno, my best friend and love of my life, proud member of the #SuperSeniorCatsClub, has heart disease and fluid in her lungs. This is the first time I’ve had to admit she won’t live forever. I will be crying myself to sleep.
