As a former Metropolitan Police Authority member, I know very well the difficult job Metropolitan Police Commissioner's have.
I have been a critical friend to many over the years. On this difficult weekend, I want to pay respect to the current Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley. Thank you.

On Armistice Day, we commemorate all of those who sacrificed their lives in war for the freedoms we have today.

Among them many faiths, including over 2.5 million Muslims.

This was a day of ceasefire, and true of what hundreds of thousands of Britons will be marching for

Lest we forget

Over 4M Hindus, Muslims & Sikhs fought in the two World Wars

Their shared endeavour, shared values & shared sacrifice helped achieve victory

The service & sacrifice of all who defended Britain & preserved our freedom will never be forgotten
