Mobile money transactions hit K452bn The value of mobile money transactions in #Zambia grew by 52.8% in 2023 to K452bn, from K295.8bn in 2022. The number of mobile money transactions recorded last year also increased by 46.7% to 2.2bn, compared to 1.5bn in 2022.

Bank of Zambia (BoZ) attributed the increase in the value and number of mobile money transactions to the continued adoption of digital financial services by members of the public. The number of active mobile wallets increased to 12.9m in 2023, from 11.2m in 2022.
