It was an honor to interview Dr. Betsy Nabel to kick off the JointMeeting. She is a role model for trainees and I am grateful to her and the Lasker Foundation for their commitment to supporting the next generation of physician-scientists.

Dr. Milewicz has been a fierce advocate for physician-scientist training. It has been a pleasure to work alongside her through APSA and I look forward to supporting her continued efforts via the longitudinal mentorship program rolled out during the JointMeeting

The concept “It Takes a Village” is universal. My village has mentored me, supported me through tough times, and propelled me to where I am today. APSA has been a large part of that journey by serving as a platform to give back to the next generation of physician-scientists.

Now more than ever, it is imperative that we combat misinformation and increase public trust in the biomedical enterprise. Increasing diversity in the physician-scientist workforce is essential to this mission. Lasker Foundation and APSA are working together toward this common goal.
