If the admin is trying to make quota, not keep Americans safe, it will keep deporting easy targetsโ€”people who *can* be legally deported but are low priorities and always show up to their check in appointments.

Nearly all the savings from work requirements come from people losing Medicaid coverage. That is not the case for the provider tax and SDP reforms, where states can make up some of the difference. Congress should better insulate beneficiaries and find more responsible savings:

Car headlights are too damn bright, and I'm doing something about it. Brightness has doubled in the last decade, but manufacturing standards haven't budged in 40 yrs. Drivers AND oncoming traffic deserve visibility โ€“ it matters for seniors & rural roads. youtube.com/watch?v=9YoV-Qโ€ฆ

A great victory for Mobile and the entire Gulf Coast. Hats off to the Southern Rail Cmsn for keeping this project alive and working to secure the necessary resources with partners in AL, MS, and LA. See you on the train in August!

I must admit, I too have completed the affirmative action forms without the level of solemn contemplation the policyโ€™s supporters like Crรฉmieux demand. Sometimes I put white, sometimes Asian, both if thatโ€™s an option, sometimes biracial. Totally careless. Iโ€™m sorry.

Last week, California passed a landmark law exempting many infill housing developments from CEQA. Hereโ€™s how we can do the same thing on a national level, exempting urban infill housing from NEPA.

America's housing crisis contains two problems: Above-cost housing & low incomes YIMBYism can cut rents down to construction costs, but it can't help poverty. Or can it? Turns out an Austin-style 15% rent drop would cut Californian poverty by as much as the Child Tax Credit ๐Ÿ‘‡

California has invested billions in transit. But zoning rules often make it illegal to build housing near stations. This week, two members of our congressional delegation, Laura Friedman and Scott Peters, called on state legislators to fix that.
