Day two of #tribfest24 with the ATPE crew was another day of learning, listening to interesting speakers, and getting fired up for the session.

I’ve attended a lot of hearings and meetings but today is my first time to attend the TRS Texas board meeting in person on behalf of ATPE. I love representing educators and looking out for them.

Good morning from the bench outside Senate Finance! The hearing is about to start and I registered FOR SB 260 on behalf of ATPE. SB 260 raises the safety and security allotment. While we appreciate this bill, we’ll continue to lobby for a larger increase.

The #txlege is back and so is the ATPE lobby team.

I spent yesterday in San Antonio talking to and sharing notes with other lobbyists from different independent educator associations who work in other states at the CIEA conference in San Antonio.

This makes me so sad but makes me want to work harder for the students in Texas.
