Today the Grade 3s had a chance to visit the town office to learn about their local municipal government. Thank you to Ben Noseworthy for giving us the tour and allowing one of our students to be "Mayor for the Day" St. Augustine's NLESD


Well our new mayor visit our school. The honourable Mayor McCarthy signed a one day contract with the Ben Noseworthy He went class to class to and then decided to stay with Grade 3 as they’re learning about Municipal Government. Then, we had our winners for RCMP for the day.




As part of our Social Studies program, our class created a Newfoundland quilt. Each student coloured and sewed their piece of the quilt. Thank you to Jennifer Morgan and Breakwater Books for letting us use your images. We'll be donating our quilt to a local shelter.


This year our Grade 2s & 3s teamed up to make our school more eco-friendly. We started vermicomposting, organized Earth hour activities, a school clean up, a junk drive & so much more. After much hard work our school officially received Silver certification with EcoSchools Canada.
