Why is the Q23 the 'slowest bus in Queens?'
It should be obvious.
(Picture: #FixAustinStreet + 71st Ave, a single car is blocking the whole bus from turning, which is making the bus also block pedestrians during the pedestrian scramble phase)

I'm unfamiliar with the Ridgewood Reservoir (never been), but I got an email about Ridgewood Rides wanting a better connection to it on Cypress and Vermont.
This is what Google Streets View shows. Tell me how bikers are 'privileged.'

You don't have to look at other countries. Newark St is a great local example of what happens when you build for people!
Let's #FixAustinSteet !

businesses on Neighbors for a Safer Austin Street, can we talk. This is such a wonderful adjustment
It's easy to blame the truck, but ask yourself: how many people are served by the bus and truck, vs the cheap parking on the curb that's blocking the truck?
There's limited space on #FixAustinStreet . It should prioritize the many!

Our neighborhood is filled with young parents, many attracted to the abundance of parks and large inventory of 2bd+ apts.
These are the neighborhood's future, and they're avoiding walking through our downtown.
This isn't economically sustainable. We must #FixAustinStreet .
Safe streets are better for businesses. So why do some business owners continue to fight it?
Let's stop ignoring the data and #FixAustinStreet , for EVERYONE'S sake!

We're sad to not see #FixAustinStreet as one of the upcoming projects NYC DOT. Hopefully, this isn't an exhaustive list.
Either way, we'll continue to advocate until we have a Safer, Better Austin St!

I was planning on getting a Kung Fu Tea NYC on Austin St. But I left because the 70th Ave was again gridlock, causing drivers to honk and wake up and upset my infant son.
That's a lost sale, by no fault of their own.
Remember this when talking about businesses closing on Austin
Yup, the status quo of a noisy, car-polluted Austin Street is killing retail business & allowing the landlords to shift to medical suite tenants who pay more. If we're to save it we need a more pedestrian friendly Austin St. NYC DOT Neighbors for a Safer Austin Street Lynn Schulman 舒曼琳 Queens Borough President Donovan Richards
This is sad to hear. Austin Street is in decline.
We must rethink it before it's too late. At this rate we will lose our lovely downtown.

Yo! Some beautiful #bikenyc Monday visuals to wake you up!
QUEENS BLVD final segment looks done! Here are some before/afters to show you. Hopefully it gets more protection but it feels safe enough.

Exactly. The status quo, which is a hostile car-dominated and dangerous street, is killing our local businesses. Make Austin Street a real destination for people, one they want to spend time in, rather than a congested mess. Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Lynn Schulman 舒曼琳 NYC DOT
