Administrators be present. It makes a big difference. Much like teachers who are in the hallways or greeting students at door. When admin are in the halls, classrooms, bus or car lines, you create connections.

If a 2nd grade word problem on a standardized test is written at a 3rd or 4th grade reading level, then you aren’t testing for math, you’re testing for above grade level reading. And doesn't reflect student knowledge of actual 2nd grade math curriculum.

Teachers should not have to work well beyond contracted hours (unpaid) just to get things done. Then we wonder why there is a 50% attrition every 5 years. This year will be off the charts if we don’t change expectations. We need state and district leaders to step up for teachers.

Be the difference for THAT kid. THAT kid can’t read, falls asleep in class, forgets his homework, is always hungry, and says he hates school. THAT kid needs you the most. You can help change THAT kid's life trajectory. Thanks for caring because I was THAT kid!

We shouldn’t punish children for being children. If they sit in desks too long, don’t be surprised if they get fidgety/ talkative. Yes, there’s a time & place for quiet, but we need more time & places for them to play, move, socialize & be children That's how they naturally learn

Besides the many issues with standardized testing. Most students have no idea what they missed on the tests and teachers don't either. And by time they get results students have moved on to next grade. So how is this really important data?

Being a principal comes with a lot of responsibility but not always a lot of authority. So many mandates and initiatives are handed down to them. So to the ones who take it in stride while continually supporting, encouraging, & appreciating their staff, We Thank You!

'Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them. Is this job tough? You betcha. But it is not impossible. We're educators. We're born to make a difference.'
