We’ve had a brilliant day with Christopher Edge Christopher Edge. We’ve learnt about Schrödinger’s cat, quantum physics, parallel universes and pigpen cyphers, to name but a few. What an author! And we sold out of books! More pics on our Facebook page.

Huge congratulations to our eight Voice-Up! finalists. They recited their poems in front of an audience of 270 children and staff. The three judges had some very tough decisions to make. Thank you for all the support the children have had at home as they learned their poems.

This is our book recommendation for June. A modern classic and loved by so many AJS children. Varjak Paw by SF Said His latest, Tyger, has just won at the British Book Awards.

It maybe the first day of the summer break, but we still have time for this month’s book recommendation. Grimwood by Nadia Shireen This Year 4 pupil inspired others in her class to read these books because they’re so funny. Everyone should get to play Treebonk!

It’s been a fantastic day with the author, David Owen . He’s inspired and motivated us to read, write and look after our oceans. Thank you, David, for coming all the way from Brighton to visit us. Every child received a copy of Alex Neptune: Dragon Thief.

November’s book recommendation and it’s this Year 5’s birthday too! The Cloud Hunters by Alex Shearer.
