I really feel sickened and betrayed by the insistence on requiring face shields, which has only wasted people's money, made their lives even more miserable, polluted the environment, and created an massive opportunity for corruption.

We must invest in education and this means train and pay teachers well. This will help address many problems not only the learning crisis.

A round of applause for our friends at DepEd for being courageous, data-driven, and taking a stand vs the general ignorance, knee-jerk cynicism, and (understandable) fear of some Filipino parents.

18 months no school for so many children! Also in the Philippines. Who seriously thinks this is a good idea? We have safe ways to open schools.

Most children don't get sick from COVID also not from Delta. The majority of children admitted to hospital [with Covid] do very well and go home, and often they are just admitted as a precaution, shown in several studies. theguardian.com/world/2021/sep…
