Thrilled to be at the ceremony for 2024 Pezcoller–AACR Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Cancer Research recipient Titia DeLange—with Enzo Galligioni, President of the @Pezcoller; Paolo Macchi, of the University of Trento; and AACR Past President Phil Greenberg.

The AACR's founders consisted of four surgeons, five pathologists, and two biochemists, and all of them were men. Today, 44% of AACR members are women, and our ranks include scientists, clinicians, other health care professionals, survivors, patients, and advocates.

May is National Cancer Research Month. AACR members have been the driving force to eradicate cancer for 117 years. We salute our more than 58,000 members for all they do to save, extend, and enhance the lives of patients with cancer.

It was a pleasure to remember my friend and mentor, Waun Ki Hong, at the #AACR24 Partners in Progress Reception last night—and a joy to share it with Ki's wife, Mi Hwa, and his son Burton. Ki's impact on the AACR was immeasurable, and we benefit from his legacy every day.
