06/01/93 Amy’s Grandad died today. It was in the news that Nintendo made two boys go mad from the effects of playing it. I went to my Dad’s house for tea = yummy. Mum hid my Game Boy again.

8.01.93 It would have been Elvis Prestley’s birthday today. Amy keeps going off with Anna and being horrible. Nicola came to my house for tea. Life!

I wrote a poem (1...) 01/93 The trees slowly sway in the cold winter wind. Their boney branches reach up into the sky. The plants are dead and flowers are no more. Pearls of dew hang from the tips of the branches. I feel cold as I walk through the forest...

11/01/93 My sister Gwen is going back to Hull uni and I am going to miss her. I’ve still got mum and dad even if they don’t live together. I watched a really good programme.

Went to Hull with mum to take my sister to her Halls, which are calledthe Lawns. Hull is grey. On the way back it was so windy I was scared the jeep was going to blow off the motor way.

13/01/93 I finished my fancy dress costume for Guides. I’m going as a 50p piece. I made it out of cardboard and I’m going to paint my face silver. I fell out with Nicola W today.

My hamster Guinness died. She didn’t wake up. I went to my Dad’s and felt really sad all day. Mum said I can get a new hamster or guinea pig really soon. (*that never happened!)

Nicola W is such a copy cat. She copies everything I do and get!!! I’m SO over it!

Went shopping with Gemma and Nicola W today all by ourselves. I felt really old trying on clothes in shops. I got a meat loaf tape, hair bands and a metre of strawberry bubble gum.

I got an excellent school report. Went shopping with mum. We had a big row but I got lots of stuff. I played tennis. #90sdiary

I went to Guides dressed as a 50p. It took me ages to make the costume. No one got it. Lindsay C dressed up as a cigarette, she was rolled up in white and orange tissue paper. We quickly made up that we came together as “don’t spend money on smoking.” Then it made sense.

Anyone who has a dog will know that the head tilt is the best thing ever

3.03.93 Dad took me to see Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, it was cool. I had tiny binoculars (spelt ‘benknockulus’) to see the stage.

3.03.93 Joseph had brown hair not blonde. He wasn’t Jason Donovan.
