I think a lot of it boils down to Hunters Mark. It was clear that the community wasn’t happy with 2014 design of HM, specifically concentration, so Wotc toggled back n forth in playtest. But instead of coming up w a creative solution to the spell design itself, they baked it in.

One thing I just can’t wrap my head around is; how laying off quality employees, then re-opening the position, is a tried and true method to keep $hareholders happy. Just … WTF?!?!
