Leaked internal documents show that Amazon's goal is to automate 75% of its operations by 2033, negating the need to hire 600,000 workers over that timespan. They also plan to avoid using terms like AI and automation and instead use "advanced technology" and "cobot." 🚨 UBI NOW!

This just happened in the The Netherlands. The centrist "D66" party, running on a platform that includes a UBI, won the most votes, positioning its leader to become the new PM. You heard that right, UBI is now a moderate position there and seen as a pragmatic solution to AI.

New on my Substack about how the election that just happened in the Netherlands may soon result in the Dutch attaining first place in the race for Universal Basic Income. What happened and why did it happen? Give it a read! open.substack.com/pub/scottsante…

This Canadian triumph in October 1993 was followed by 25 years of global prosperity, massive reductions in nuclear weapons stockpiles, the end of apartheid in South Africa, and Apple's recovery from near-bankruptcy. You know how to cheer tonight.

"Amazon execs believe 500k jobs could be cut by replacing warehouse workers with robots" The fight over "artificial labour" is on. When Amazon's automation plans are serious enough for Senators to call Bezos to testify — it's time to talk about UBI, not just job retraining.

"Amazon is hoping its robots can replace more than 600,000 jobs it would otherwise have to hire in the United States by 2033" It's not just about how many workers are replaced, but also how many aren't hired in the first place.

T.C. Boyle Good morning, future memoirs of today and tomorrow! Yours.— Atwood’s are out now, their launch propulsed by Saturday’s Guardian interview/memoirs extract, accompanied with a juicy quote. Weird? But how we have to spell-bee ‘weird’ here?
