It’s wise to distinguish between goals and purpose. If PURPOSE is your primary filter for decision-making, goals can be the best drivers toward its fulfillment. But if GOALS are your primary lens, though they can move you ahead, it may be in the wrong direction.

Never lower the bar as your strategy to coax commitment out of uncommitted people. Most of the shortcuts to commitment lead only to the land of entitlement.

Motivation grows with an anticipation of achievement. Here’s how effective goal setting can help.

First, establish what you want to achieve (outcome goals). Then establish the steps (process goals) and how you intend to measure progress (performance goals).

We must work to create a culture that people WANT to be a part of. The litmus test is revealed by what the current team members say to recruits
