Charles Kingsley: most famous for The Water Babies, but as his bicentenary in the village of Eversley where he was rector demonstrated recehtly, his legacy as novelist, social reformer & chaplain to Queen Victoria mark him as a contender for one of Hampshire's favourite people.

More celebrations of the life of Charles Kingsley next weekend in Eversley as part of Heritage Open Days Local historian, Philip Todd will be leading a guided walk in Kingsley’s footsteps around Eversley. Meet at Church Green car park at 3.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
