When the Ontario government scrapped their climate plan, projects that were on track to protect the environment and make life more affordable for Ontario families lost funding. We’re taking action to ensure our kids and grandkids have a more prosperous future.

Awesome time of year - projects reach conclusions. Carson learned and modelled best green building practices this semester. This included visiting passive houses himself on his own time. Pretty cool for a grade 10! ⁦Energy & Enviro CBE⁩

Some student projects can’t be completed in a semester. Sebastian worked with local mosaic artist Michelena Bamford to create a concept, engage community, get approvals & raise funds for new public art piece for our community garden patch coming this spring! ⁦⁦⁦⁩

Abby got the community on board in her project to extend our community garden into an all year feature. How? By planning a hydroponic garden within a sea can. She also got other classes on board to help ⁦Inside Education⁩ recognized her work and invited her group to Gener8

Contributing to the local food movement and community gardens doesn’t always look how you might think... Sam has worked hard this semester to design and weld legs for benches that will make our garden patch even more enjoyable for all. Beautiful work! ⁦Energy & Enviro CBE⁩

I’m so proud that the work our Energy & Enviro CBE students have done (engaging community, designing, constructing, landscaping) has resulted in a thriving community garden with NorthGlenmorePark CA and Calgary Board of Education. In our first year, we have 18 community members with garden plots and it looks amazing!
