🏴‍☠️ Look at this excellent insight from one of the Physician Associates who were sold a big lie to join the quackery PA course: An old American dude delivered a careers seminar and made it look as if doctors had asked for PAs to come in and help! 💀 ⭕️ They said the job market

Resident doctors: gruellingly trained for at least 5 years, work nights, resus, trauma, death, despair. Pay: still £14–18/hour. Less than: - Dog groomers (£20/hr) – Personal trainers (£25/hr) – Tube drivers (£30–60/hr) – Private tutors (£30–50/hr) – Electricians (£25–45/hr) But

Great plan! Sack the doctors who kept the NHS afloat during the pandemic when all they’ve asked for is a road map to pay restoration … and then hire more noctors at £10,000 more a person. Might get Wes Streeting a promotion to the Chancellors job on that kind of street smart!

I can explain the divide. Since Doctors trained & became Consultants or GPs in the 20th century - the “deal” has progressively got worse. • Medical students stopped getting maintenance grants. • Then they had to pay tuition fees - which have risen sharply over 20 years. •

Streeting is just repeating the same old Tory mistakes: no solid offer on pay, no plan to raise doctors’ wages from £18.62/hr, and vague promises like student loan forgiveness that never materialise. Doctors have had enough of the empty talk. They need a proper, credible offer.

There is more to this than Drs pay It’s about power over healthcare & future of the NHS Cut the pay of staff, retention is poor, productivity falls & the claims of a broken NHS grow louder Private sector steps in, paying less, shareholders win Public loses healthcare & pays

This is key Trying to ignore the strikes, and talking about “breaking” doctors is all just bravado and exactly what the tories tried All disputes end around the negotiating table This is also the reason the chancellor said this last year, and she’d be absolutely right again👇🏼

Thousands of newly qualified Drs (FY1s) will be starting work in the #NHS on Wednesday. Can Wes Streeting & Sir Jim Mackey explain directly to these new Drs why they’re worth so much less than newly qualified Physician Assistants? #PayRestoration Resident Doctors Department of Health and Social Care

Nurses union to reject pay deal as strike vote looms Maybe there’s something about how the NHS is being degraded, how patient care is increasingly challenging to deliver in under-resourced environments and how NHS workers are being treated by Govt here? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

It’s no wonder working women are afraid to speak up to defend their rights when they know they face losing their jobs and having their character dragged through the dirt: it’s the modern equivalent of the scold’s bridle.

Abbie 🐝 Pause and zoom out Strikes not only stopped pay cuts, they have started to reverse them There is no stumbling And direction of pay has clearly changed It can feel disheartening in the moment Everyone would love an instant win But that's not how life works

Sophie Howles Compare to a recent day spent in a hospital visiting in Florida: free parking, free lunch in “physician’s lounge.” Physician’s lavatory (ok rest room) in theatres. Doctors exquisitely looked after. Productivity 4x UK (8 radical robotic prostatectomies in 1 day instead of 2).

This year for Suicide Prevention Month we’re rallying around one, core truth. It’s what our team believes, and it’s a sentiment we know so many of our supporters carry with them. It’s a simple statement that says it all. “I hope you stay.” We need you here It’s not weak to ask
