Two things about the rail labor dispute that I think are going under the radar: -How minimal the worker protections are that the unions are asking for -How massive the disruption would be to economy and society if the unions strike

The unions want (unpaid) time off to attend previously scheduled doctor's appointments without facing penalization up to and including the risk of being fired. That's it.

It is beyond belief that in the year 2022 rail workers in America have zero guaranteed paid sick days. Zero. The rail industry, which made a record-breaking $20 billion in profits last year, must come to the table and negotiate a contract which treats their workers with respect.
