I am so fully booked and rushed off my feet cleaning, maintaining and improving things. It's a really good thing. And Wawa had puppies. 2 boys, 2 girls. Don't ask me why she wants to give birth in the grungiest place here. She gets to decide that.

I've fallen into a bit of a pattern of falling asleep while catching up on posts and never posting anything. I've got a week of no bookings ahead of me and maybe a bit of time for myself, some full on russomisia plus some great photos.

It has been relentlessly hot, dry and windy here with 3 days of brief rain so far this year. I'm applying 50,000 litres of water a month to keep stuff alive. I've had a few failures but it's not too bad. Watering at night was a big discovery and things look better than this now.

Maisy got another chicken today, that makes 5. It pecked her on the nose and she let it go. I got it by a wing tip and Wawa went for the kill. She ran off with it and I found a pile of giblets beside her puppies a short time later. There's still at least two more chickens around.

I've also had a bit of time to do some things with the offcuts from the alien tree and the bamboo I cut a while ago. A small table and some blinds have been on my to do list since forever. Here's the top reflecting dawn rays through trees. Still figuring out how to do blinds.

Kitchen had a makeover too

All the lighting is motion sensitive now. I'm extending that along all the paths. It's quite funky to have the light follow you around at night.

Converted my old pig pens into living space too. Fixed the holes in the roof, tarted it up. Small but comfortable office and sleeping spaces. The toilet and shower (x2) are under construction but usable.

One red, one yellow. And they're on the same plant. I looked the next day and it was all yellow again. I've not seen that before.

Done a lot of little touches. Baskets for lampshades is just an example.
