#AI Act: another inconclusive technical trilogue on foundation models today. The EU Parliament officials explained their approach (as reported by Euractiv on Friday), whilst the Council presidency showed no flexibility beyond codes of conduct. All eyes are on Friday's COREPER.

AIAct : en guise de compromis, le Parlement européen abandonne l'idée d'interdire l'identification biométrique à distance en temps réel (reco faciale). On reste sur une interdiction pour les forces de l'ordre sauf dans de rares exceptions plus limitées et avec plus de sauvegardes

#AIAct trilogue: it's a wrap! After 36 hours of intense negotiations, EU policymakers have reached a provisional deal on the world's first AI law. Much technical work remains, and it might take weeks to consolidate the text. More details to follow on the political agreement.
