Out today, our lab's first publication! A review on "Mobile genetic elements in ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฃ๐ข๐ค๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ antibiotic resistance acquisition and dissemination" by PhD candidate Hannah Noel and PREP scholar Jessie Petrey. Open access link: doi.org/10.1111/nyas.1โฆ
The postponed '21 edition of #GRC-MAST (Microbial Adhesion and Signal Transduction) will finally take place this July in beautiful Newport - organized by Raphael Raphael Valdivia & myself [with co-chairs Tracy Palmer & Fitnat Yildiz]. Yippee! Time to apply ๐คฉ tinyurl.com/4znzytpr
The 2023 Microbial Adhesion & Signal Transduction GRS will be held July 15-16, followed by an amazing GRC chaired by Raphael Valdivia and Dr. Melanie Blokesch! Registration is quickly filling, so please apply ASAP: grc.org/microbial-adheโฆ
Iโm excited to announce that I will be joining UChicago Department of Microbiology as an Assistant Professor this Fall! My lab will explore how nosocomial pathogens are transmitted, with a focus on the mechanisms (bacterial and host) driving spread of Acinetobacter in hospitals.
Back for more science! Dr. Zachary Lonergan Zach Lonergan from Caltech uses isotope geochemistry tools to differentiate between metabolic pathways in bacterial infections. Interesting talk spanning chemistry to microbiology!
Iโm thrilled to share that I will be joining @YaleMedin the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis YaleMicroPath and the Yale Microbial Sciences Institute as an assistant professor. The Pi lab will open doors this September on the beautiful Yale West Campus.
Excellent end to #GRCMAST! Carrie Shaffer Zach Lonergan Erin Green Will Beavers, PhD and Marty! Looking forward to the next one!
My lab at UChicago Department of Microbiology is hiring! We are looking for a research tech to work with us studying mechanisms of bacterial stress response and pathogenesis. Would be a great opportunity for recent college grads looking for research experience. Please spread the word! Links below
Sean Callahan, PhD and I are co-chairs for the 2024 GRS on Microbial Toxins and Pathogenicity. We started reviewing applications so get started and apply early! Please, include abstracts to be considered for acceptance. grc.org/microbial-toxiโฆ
On our way to start the #GRCToxPath Seminar! Canโt wait to connect with such an outstanding group of trainees. Sarah Price Zach Lonergan Kara Eichelberger
