I’m going to be sad soon. This May has been deliciously cool. Even when the temperature is around 5-8C it’s perfect for shorts and Lycra jerseys. I’d rather be on the cool side than sweating my arse off. Anyway, a nice respectable ride in this morning.

This an Opitma Baron Low Rider recumbent with all the tech dope trimmings you could possibly want. The second image is this rider’s speed trial on a 8 km course. His average power output for this speed trial is more or less the same as I get when I ride my 14km commute. His

These low rider recumbent bicycles can produce amazing speeds for a 220 too 250 watt power out[ut by the ride. Seriously, you’re looking at speeds of 40-50kph

You would be extremely hard pressed to find examples of cyclist behaving like this and of course there are many examples of motorist behaving far worse.

It can be done; 1) traffic congestion can be reduced 2) air quality improves 3) active travel modes made easier 4) a healthier population 5) reduced medical costs 6) improved economics So what are we doing here in Ontario? 1) planning to build tunnels for cars 2) removing

The speed of these low rider recumbents can achieve is truly amazing. These are not toys like so many motor brains whinging about. Low rider recumbents are where engineering and art intersect. These “toys” start at a price tag of $5000 and move up very quickly

So I have been humming and hawing about what is now an acceptable ride for me. I have basically narrowed it down to anything 200 watts and over. That generally translates to an average speed of 23kph or better This morning ride was just on cusp. For some reason my left hip is

My old battery powered air pump is broken. The adaptor/connector fell apart. I tried repeatedly to repair it but is of no use. Cheap MasterCraft from Canadian Tire, so I ordered a replacement from Dewalt. Hoping it is of better quality. Are they worth it? Yes, I at least
