Avenue policy review consultation starts in just under 2 hours! If you can make it on, saying even as little as "I support this initiative" in the chat box is all it takes to add your voice to the record. If you feel like saying more, go for it! toronto.ca/city-governmen…

Zoë Coombes ever since you tweeted about underground garbage collection I’ve been obsessing about reclaiming our sidewalks from this ugly and smelly biweekly ritual.

Everyone who cares about the Greenbelt and understands how complex it was to put together, should be concerned with Carney’s intellectually lazy approach to housing. His choices and his vision are super fuel for “Build the Greenbelt.” Open the cities, reform taxation, reform

“We cannot be broadly prosperous if 70% of the new housing we produce is high rise, single units, in perpetuity.” Eric Lombardi 🇨🇦🚀🏗️’s whole post is correct. It’s amazing watch every level of government make things increasingly feudal. Canada lacks urban, architectural vision.

We could free up huge amounts of space that needs to go to *privately storing trash for two weeks* in each home if we had daily pick up from these elegant (but actually huge), dumpsters. Hard to unlock Toronto’s missing middle, affordably without this.

Watching France build incredibly elegant buildings inexpensively, as public housing is part of what, I think, fuels the enthusiasm in Canada for subsidized (public) housing. But I’d point to all the way building codes make this form impossible in our cities, no matter who pays.

Toronto can’t have the Greenbelt without making its mission to legalize and in every way incentivize, fantastic low-rise apartments that middle class, would be house buyers, like as much, or more than houses. We need to take building code reform and architecture seriously. 👇

Stephen Wickens 🇺🇦 🇨🇦 Chris Selley Matt Gurney Shawn Micallef 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ John Michael McGrath I love UK churches that feature dine-in cafés, something I haven’t seen in Canada. You can enjoy coffee and a light meal in an historic, uplifting setting while supporting the church’s community work.
