Today was all about action! Activists, orgs and community leaders have come together to respond to the Nov–Dec 2024 FGM/C crisis in Kenya. We’re sharing solutions, standing in solidarity, and handing over a powerful joint statement to the @antifgmboard_kenya #TogetherWeEndFGM

1/ Today, the Anti-FGM Board joined a powerful forum hosted by Zinduka, uniting actors across the anti-FGM movement in Kenya. CEO Bernadette Loloju received a bold Call to Action #EndFGM #PamojaTukomesheUkeketaji

2/ The letter urged the Board to lead efforts to: Enforce FGM laws Investigate recent violations Arrest perpetrators Clarify the President’s stance Increase funding Support grassroots action

3/ It also called on the Board to: Engage international partners for support and pressure Amplify global awareness through advocacy and media #HumanRights #ProtectOurGirls #FGMEndsWithUs

4/ Before the event, the Board shared findings from a pre-survey in the Kuria community (Migori) and presented a Comprehensive Path Forward to end FGM.

5/ Key priorities include: ✅ Expand education & radio messaging ✅ Engage clans in promoting safe rites ✅ Strengthen safe houses during cutting seasons ✅ Build Kenya–Tanzania coordination ✅ Empower local women’s networks ✅ Bolster legal enforcement
