Today, UNDP Resilience Hub for Africa 🌍 led by Zeynu Jemal Ummer, with UNICEF Kenya Country Rep, met H.E FCPA Ahmed Abdullahi E.G.H, Chair of Kenya’s Council of Governors & Wajir Governor, to explore continued partnership in Wajir County, using water as a catalyst for development & resilience in the borderlands.

Our #GAFA initiative is taking shape in Jigjiga, Somali Region. Yesterday with The Children's Investment Fund Foundation, we deployed 20 solar-powered boreholes to bring climate-resilient water and build local capacity to keep it flowing. Today in Addis Ababa, as we gear up for the UNDP Resilience Hub for Africa 🌍 #CRRF launch during the #AfricaClimateSummit, I engaged with the #COP29 Presidency on creating a platform to strengthen Africa’s fight against climate change.

Earlier today in Addis Ababa, we officially launched the Community Recovery and Resilience Facility (CRRF) in partnership with the African Union on the margins of the #AfricaClimateSummit—marking a major step to help communities recover stronger and build lasting resilience.

Coastal communities in 30+ African countries face rising seas, storms & erosion, yet access to finance & data remains limited. Tomorrow at #ACS25, African Union & UN Development will bring partners together to explore scalable solutions & financing pathways for stronger resilience.

Pleased to lead the UNDP Africa delegation to the Africa Resilience Forum of African Development Bank Group in Abidjan 🇨🇮 under the theme “Prioritizing Prevention: Financing Peace in a Changing Development Cooperation Landscape.” One thing is certain: Resilience is Africa’s greatest asset.
