Life Update: 2 weeks ago I accepted a position in a new school district. I’ve been in Irving ISD at Johnston since my first year of teaching. This is a bitter sweet moment and I will boohoo tears!😭 It breaks my heart to type this because the kids at Johnston are THE SWEETEST!!

One of the ways I build relationships with students is by showing up for them outside of school. I’m rooting for my babies even if its making it to a 8:00 am basketball and soccer game on a Saturday morning. 🫶🏾 #memories

Live footage of our student-led small group. 4.4H is a beast TEK! I allowed these kiddos to run small groups together and then they were assignment classmates to complete small groups with. I love giving my kiddos leadership opportunities and watching them in their element!! 🥹

9 years ago, I was a senior in high school getting ready for my new student teaching placement. My teacher gave me 5th grade and I begged her to switch me to a lower grade. She knew me and knew I would be obsessed with the older kiddos. 😂 I love you Carla Joe! 🫶🏾

It’s vacation time! I love giving fourth graders opportunities throughout the school year to work on their communication skills. Today they presented their Family Vacation projects. At the end they had to include how they plan on paying for these expensive trips. 😂

Such an amazing opportunity for my kiddos. I just showed them the video and they were so excited to see themselves learning. They all clapped at the end hahaha! 🫶🏾 Thank you everyone for this opportunity!
