Our Varsity and JV teams had a great time supporting our 8th grade teams against Creekside tonight! Two big wins for the Chix!

The Chix lost tonight to Unity Christian by a score of 62-48. We were led by Mirra Fenlon with 20 points. Emily Wierenga added 13 and Lizzie Risdon scored 10. We are now 10-5 (4-3) and host Hamilton on Tuesday night.

Chix picked up a 45-35 win tonight over Hamilton. We were led by Mirra Fenlon’s 20 points. Fenna Gruppen added 10, Emily Wierenga scored 8 and Lizzie Risdon had an outstanding defensive performance while scoring 6. We are now 11-5 (5-3) and travel to Spring Lake on Friday.

Tough loss tonight on the road at Spring Lake, 47-34. Emily Wierenga led the way with 14 points, Lizzie Risdon added 11 and Mirra Fenlon scored 9. The loss puts us at 11-6 (5-4). We head to Holland Christian on Tuesday night for another OK Black matchup.

Chix pick up a BIG win at the Civic Center, 44-43 over Holland Christian. We were led by Emily Wierenga with 15 points and Mirra Fenlon’s 12 points. Tons of two-way contributions from our kids tonight. We are now 12-6 and 6-4 in OK Black play.

The shorthanded Chix fell short tonight at Cedar Springs, 39-33. We were led by Mirra Fenlon with 22 points and Emme Meyering with 6. We are back in action on Tuesday when we host Zeeland West.

The Chix fell short tonight against Zeeland West, 36-34. We were led by Lizzie Risdon with 11 points. Mirra Fenlon and CC Kuras each scored 7, Emily Wierenga had 6 and Fenna Gruppen scored 3. Next up we host Holland on Friday for Senior Night.

The Chix picked up a 53-34 win on Senior Night! We were led by seniors Mirra Fenlon and Emily Wierenga who each scored 17 points. What a great night honoring our six seniors and their contributions to the program. We are now 13-8 (7-5) and host Mona Shores next Thursday.

What a senior class! They are a joy to be around each day. I am extremely grateful for how welcoming and bought in they were from day one. Best part is that our best basketball is still ahead of us! Go Chix! 🐣

Chix wrapped up the regular season with a 56-30 win over Mona Shores. Emily Wierenga led the way with 18 points. Lizzie Risdon scored 13, Emme Meyering scored 8 and Leah Johnson added 6. We finish the regular season at 14-8 and take on Zeeland West in districts on Wednesday.

Former Zeeland East teammates Emily Wierenga and Mirra Fenlon actually guarded each other in the Homegrown Classic Basketball All-Star Game on Thursday at Cornerstone University. Wierenga was named MVP of the game.
