The day the #ceasefire was announced, displaced families are returning to South #Lebanon. Israel continue to restrict access to 60 Lebanese villages. The damage to infrastructure is severe. There is a mix of hope for the ceasefire to last, and acute concerns about the winter.

Hi European populist politicians, you want to push Syrian refugees back to these homes while foreign powers are still bombing and no one knows how and who will be governing the various regions of the country? It would be cruel and reckless. Those who can will voluntarily return.

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE: A World Food Programme convoy, clearly marked & carrying 8 team members, was shot at by Israeli forces near Wadi Gaza despite prior clearances. Humanitarians are #NotATarget! We MUST have safe, secure access to continue delivering life-saving aid.

Pay attention to the language here. It’s subtle but important. Israel “extends military presence” and “procrastination” normalize and downplay its illegal occupation and violation of the ceasefire. When the Lebanese army says so, “accuses” makes it sound like it’s not a fact.

3 years since the war in #Ukraine escalated, displaced Ukrainians and their hosts in #Moldova are still struggling. Basic aid is not enough – they need jobs, shelter, stability. As Moldova’s energy crisis deepens, sustained support is vital. Fatigue must not turn into neglect.
