The itinerary included a courtesy call at Great Zimbabwe University, a tour of Desmondale Farm,and site visits in Bikita and Zaka.The visit provided a platform to showcase the tangible impact of the CAUSEWAY Project in strengthening enterprise growth, improving access to finance.

ZADT is facilitating a Peer Assist Session at Rainbow Towers, bringing together partner financial institutions and other stakeholders.

The session focuses on the CAUSEWAY Revolving Credit Facility, with discussions centered on unlocking funding opportunities through financial institutions, identifying current challenges, and collaboratively proposing solutions.

This platform aims to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen partnerships, and drive impactful strategies for improved access to finance under the CAUSEWAY Project.

Recently, ZADT had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Embassy of Sweden, led by Ms. Emilli Perez, Deputy Head of Development Cooperation, for a field visit showcasing youth and women-led agricultural initiatives under the CAUSEWAY Project.

The visit featured innovative student-run agribusinesses at the University of Zimbabwe, supported through grants from the Swedish Embassy under the CAUSEWAY Project, as well as successful garlic farming projects in Concession led by women and youth.

Reapers Pvt Ltd, the off-taker working with the garlic farmers in Concession,was assisted by ZADT to access a loan facility from Old Mutual under the CAUSEWAY Project.Reapers then extended the facility to the farmers in the form of inputs & supports them through market linkages.

The delegation engaged directly with beneficiaries, witnessing first-hand the impact of inclusive, community-driven agricultural development.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of strong multi-stakeholder partnerships, targeted financing, and structured mentorship in scaling sustainable agri-enterprises and transforming rural livelihoods across Zimbabwe.

Recently, the CAUSEWAY Project hosted the Women and Youth Agripreneurs Workshop: Empowerment, Access & Safe Spaces in Agribusiness at CASL Conference Centre in Murewa and Brondesbury in Makoni. .

The sessions empowered participants with knowledge on gender norms,GBV & the reporting pathways.Partners delivered sessions on innovative loan products, highlighting how access to finance can help reduce GBV, with both men& women contributing economically to the household.

Motivational talks and a “Pitch Your Business” session boosted confidence and inspired participants to advance their agribusiness ideas and over 30 women showed renewed interest in applying for loans.
