The politicization of our schools & curriculum is harming the academic success of our kids. Take politics out of the classroom & refocus on reading, writing, math, & science. We’re doing future generations a disservice by sacrificing their education for the sake of ideology.

For the first time since 2001 - the bipartisan, public, & merit-based process completed by the Legislature was abandoned in favor of non-transparent & purely political appointments by the executive branch. Regents are meant to be representative of all Minnesota - not one party.

One “Transparent” Minnesota Government is beholden to the people Minnesotans expect answers & demand accountability. Anything less is willful complicity. Enough inaction - the duty of state government, departments, agencies, & the executive is to at least do the bare minimum.

Whatever the issue - budgets, hiring, academic achievement, enrollment, student opportunities, etc. - it’s great to see a free-flowing & respectful discussion by our school board. Questions, suggestions, collaboration on ways to improve & best serve the community is the focus. 👍

If not for folks trying to influence the outcome of the Minneapolis Mayoral race, this candid correction of the 2024 end of legislative session would have never been published. These facts should have been clearly stated to the public then instead of a year later - “when useful.”
