Earlier today, NHRC launched its State of Human Rights Report for the year 2023. The Commission used this occasion to celebrate its 5th anniversary while reflecting on the achievements and impact registered during this period.

The event also featured a press conference where journalists had the opportunity to ask and clear doubts, misconceptions and speculations on the Status of Human Rights in the Gambia.

influential women leaders, and government representatives. The objective was to strategize collective actions for the next 3 months, engage in strategic political engagement, and strengthen community-driven efforts to eradicate FGM.
